Apparently Sarah really misses her daddy (I know that I miss her and mommy both) because today she started talking about me all day long...

A Great Robot Competition in Denver

Sarah was able to celebrate yesterday evening in Denver when the Lee's Summit North robotics team won the most prestigious award in the competition...the Chairman's Award. You can see below how excited Sarah was to be on hand to receive the medal. Mommy made sure that Sarah had on a Broncobots uniform just like everyone else on the team. The Chairman's Award is an award that one team receives for spreading the word about First Robotics and science, engineering, and technology throughout their community.

The robot team worked really hard on this aspect all year long and they did pretty well in the technical competition too. The Broncobots ended up losing in the first round of the playoffs when their alliance went up against the #1 seed and eventual champions.

If you didn't notice already, Sarah really ate into the medal and in the second picture you can clearly see her bottom chompers. Some top teeth will probably be poking through any time now. Joella and Sarah are now visiting cousins just north of Denver and later this week I'll fly out there so I can visit and help Joella drive back home next weekend.

Another Busy Couple of Weeks

I read mommy a book (maybe "read" isn't quite the right word)...

Sarah's Fun Weekend With Grandma Diane and Aunt Lisa

Sarah enjoyed her visitors this weekend and had lots of fun with Aunt Lisa and Grandma Diane. Sarah showed off all of her rolling around moves and those strong legs of hers. Maybe Joella will have some time tomorrow to load up a few of the cute videos, but for now here are a few pictures...

Our Messy Monkey

Sarah has enjoyed visiting with Grandma Diane and Aunt Lisa so far and tomorrow I will load up some new photos from their visit. For now, though, we will go back to Arkansas again where Sarah showed off how messy of an eater she is. For everyone's information, Sarah continues to be doing well with just a little coughing and a little rubbing of her ear.

Our Little Muncher

During dinner last night Sarah got a little treat from mommy. Joella let Sarah gnaw on her pickle for a few seconds and boy did she like it. Sarah's teeth still have a long way to go, but her gums are strong enough when she really wants to munch on something.

Hump Day...Sort Of

Well even though it is Wednesday I am well past the midway point in my week of continuous blogging. Once this week is over, I won't be posting every single day but I will promise to have more than three or four a month. I will say that both Sarah and Joella are feeling much better today so we are looking forward to having visitors this weekend.

The subject of our pictures today will be Sarah and the ladybug chair. Maggie had lots of fun playing with Sarah yet again, but the funniest thing about it all was that Amelia got very jealous that Sarah was using her chair. After these pictures were taken Amelia carried the chair all around the house for days even though she hadn't used it previously in months. Amelia is quite a handful, but she is so stinkin' cute!

Day Four

Sarah seemed to be getting better all day long so hopefully she won't cough much through the night. So far I have not heard a peep from her for almost 3 hours. Sarah's teething is definitely starting full swing now because she is constantly drooling and always wants something in her mouth.

It is funny seeing Sarah becoming more suspicious of strangers and people that she has not seen in a while. She is always looking around for mommy at the beginning, but once she gets settled down and distracted she can just enjoy playing. Last week Sarah really like sitting and reading stories with Maggie. Like any 9 month old, Sarah loves to grab anything within reach, so it was really funny when Maggie asked Joella to tell Sarah to stop grabbing the pages of the book while Maggie was reading to her. I guess that telling on Sarah will not yield the same results as telling on little sister Amelia.

The Third Day

Well Sarah went to her pediatrician today for her nine month checkup and she did very well except for the fact that she apparently has an ear infection. Sarah has not been too crabby and she doesn't have a temperature, but go figure. The doctor says that she is already fighting the cold virus off very well, but hopefully the medicine will let her get better more quickly.


Here are some more pictures from last week when Sarah visited her cousins in Arkansas...I think that everyone enjoyed playing dress-up (except maybe Cocoa).

Installment No. 2

Sarah's attempts at crawling are pretty fun to watch. She usually pushes up on one side with her knee and arm and ends up rolling over. Then she will roll back over onto her stomach and do the same thing again. After rolling over a few times Sarah is then close enough to whatever she wants that she can just reach out and grab it.

But seconds later she is onto her back again.

And here is a bonus picture of Sarah having fun getting stripped down for bath time. Let's hope that she is not one of those kids who enjoys taking off their clothes and running around naked.
